The theme of the JCI-UN Leadership Summit - Be Better By Keeping the Promise: 2015 - is a combination of JCI’s new corporate slogan “Be Better” and the UN Millennium Development Goal Campaign “Keep the promise for 2015.” The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – which range from halving extreme poverty to providing universal primary education by the target date of 2015 – are a blueprint agreed to by all the world’s countries and leading institutions to address the world's main development challenges. The theme of this summit represents the partnership between JCI and the UN which will serve to help advance these goals. To be chaired by the 2007 JCI Representative for UN-New York and UNICEF Mr. Keisuke Takana of JCI Japan, the JCI-UN summit will strengthen relations between JCI and the United Nations, increase participants’ knowledge about the UN MDGs, and gain support for the best JCI National Organizations’ projects related to UN MDGs.
You may now register for the 2008 JCI Leadership Summit in New York on July 28 and 29, 2008. Participants will focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the UN-Global Compact. Corporate Social Responsibility is one of the most relevant topics for today’s business leaders.
