Junior Chamber International Canada recognizes the importance of privacy and security with respect to the information it collects from its members in the course of carrying on its business. We have adopted this Privacy Policy to guide how we collect, use and disclose any personal information we may collect.
Membership information supplied to JCI Canada: We receive and store the information you, or the person in your chapter responsible for membership, enter on the JCI Canada membership application/renewal form or that you provide to us in other ways (e.g., e-mail correspondence). By personally completing the membership/renewal form or having the membership/renewal form completed on your behalf by your local chapter, you are granting JCI Canada your permission to collect your personal information. We will limit, where possible, the collection of members’ personal information to that which is required to provide our services or operate Junior Chamber International Canada. Your personal information may be disclosed internally or to Junior Chamber International in order to provide membership services to you or for the purpose of determining compliance with applicable membership standards or internal policies.
Members may choose not to provide certain information, but members must provide their date of birth as membership in Junior Chamber International is open only to individuals between the ages of 18 and 40.
Members always have the option not to provide their consent to the collection, use and distribution of their personal information, or to withdraw their consent at a later date. Where a member chooses not to provide Junior Chamber International Canada with permission to collect, use or disclose personal information, JCI Canada may not have sufficient information to offer membership.
Other information supplied to JCI Canada: In the ordinary course of business, chapters may, from time to time, honour a member with an award for outstanding service. A brief describing why the person deserves this award must be attached to the application form and could be construed as “personal information”. This information will not be published without the written consent of the person so named.
Member Communications: In the ordinary course of its activities, JCI Canada publishes an E-newsletter as well as a newsletter mailed to each member’s address of record. If you do not wish to receive email from us, you can “unsubscribe” directly on the email or you can notify us by sending an email to administrator@jcicanada.com and we will be happy to remove you from our listing.
Does the CJC share my personal information? JCI Canada does not sell its database to any third party. However, the Junior Chamber International Canada website publishes the names and contact information of Chapter Presidents, Regional Presidents and the National Board.
Does JCI Canada protect my VISA account information? At no time does Junior Chamber International Canada provide your account contact or payment information to any third party vendor, associate or service provider, unless required in the normal course of action with banking institutions and shipping carriers in order to process your purchase.
