Junior Effective Speaking Competition

The first annual Junior Effective Speaking Competition, a national program of JCI Canada was launched at the 69th National Convention and Annual General Meeting which was held in Quebec City in September 2004.  Two competitors, one from Alberta and one from Nova Scotia competed. The topic of the prepared speech was Integrity in Business.  The winner was Ilona Corbin, Windsor, Nova Scotia.  The winner of the impromptu competition was Badeia Jawhari of Edmonton, Alberta.

In 2005, chapters ran local competitions and the winners from the local level proceeded on to the regional competition.  The regional competition winners competed at the National Convention and Annual General Meeting of JCI Canada which was held in September 2005 in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The program was not held in 2006 or 2007.
